Spoiler Summary/Synopsis:

Nasa looks at the mess Tsukasa left for him. He wonders how he’ll be able to reconstruct Tokiko’s device. Aurora surprises him with her presence. Tsukasa also shows up and greets the maid. Aurora reports that she believes Kaguya is close to learning Tsukasa’s secret. She provides some proof to back her statements. Aurora offers to investigate Kaguya, but Tsukasa declines. Tsukasa warns that people like Kaguya require extreme caution. Aurora says they will keep and eye on Kaguya and leaves.

Tsukasa tells Nasa that this isn’t the first time some smart kid has caught onto her secret. However, in this modern age, Tsukasa can no longer use superstitious excuses to cover things.

Nasa surprises Tsukasa by asking who Aurora is. Tsukasa explains that Tokiko never expected Tsukasa to get married. As such, she arranged to Tsukasa to have protectors since Shiori and Chitose are unreliable in that role. Thus Tokiko hired Charlotte and Aurora as maids and Tsukasa’s caretakers. Tsukasa can’t fathom why anyone worries so much about her. Nasa states it is because folks care about her.

Sometime later, Nasa contemplates how little he knows about his wife. She joins him on the engawa. After learning of Nasa’s desire to learn about her, Tsukasa invites him to ask any question. Nasa asks if she ever had romantic feelings for anyone else. She teases him by stated lots of people confessed their love to her. As such, he better make sure not to let her go.

Thoughts/Review:

I really like how Hata-sensei laid out Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 191. We get some Kaguya stuff, but also a bit more Tsukasa lore with her past and her maids.

Kaguya

I still believe that that Kaguya in this series is the same Kaguya from Tsukasa’s past. But whether she’s a reincarnation or simply the same girl who has memory blocks, I cannot say. If Kaguya is the same girl from the past, Tsukasa is playing things close to her vest. I think I’ve previously stated this, but if that’s the case, why is Tsukasa being cagey? After all, Kaguya could be the one to help.

On the other hand, maybe Tsukasa doesn’t know. As of Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 191, I’m not aware that Tsukasa met Kaguya in the past. So other than the name being the same and the obvious references in Kaguya’s clothing, Tsukasa may only suspect Kaguya. We’ll see how this plays out.

On a related topic, I hope Hata-sensei shows us an example of people in Tsukasa’s past who’ve come close to learning her secret.

Ask Me Anything

One surprising element in Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 191 was getting a bit of info on Aurora and Charlotte. I always figured they had to be in on Tsukasa’s secret. Tsukasa indicates that Aurora and Charlotte were not hired to be maids, but rather to protect Tsukasa. Early in the manga, we did see Charlotte wielding a giant sword from another franchise. Obviously it was done as a joke. However, Hata-sensei often likes to hide bits of truth in his jokes.

Still, if Charlotte and Aurora were hired as bodyguards of sorts, I wonder if Hata-sensei is laying the groundwork for some action-filled adventure to come. After all, someone does have the rest of Tsukasa’s “masked avenger” mask.

That aside, Tsukasa also implied that she knew Sugawara no Michizane. And I think that got Nasa to wondering whether Tsukasa had guys she liked in the past. It is certainly a guy thing to wonder. 😂 You may have the girl now, but maybe there were other guys in her past. As such, Nasa is likely wondering how he stacks up to those other guys. 😅

It amused me to see Tsukasa’s reaction to Nasa’s question. She’s enjoying seeing Nasa’s discomfort at the thought of other men liking her.

Final Thoughts and Conclusion

In the end, Tonikaku Cawaii Chapter 191 provided some interesting tidbits about the maids Aurora and Charlotte. In addition, we were also given some interesting tidbits about Tsukasa’s past. And Tsukasa had a bit of fun teasing her husband regarding other men from her past. Very enjoyable chapter to be sure.
